Future-perspective

   If I can be admitted to National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, I would like to choose Applied of Foreign Language Department as my major.  In my first year in college, I will improve my speaking skills as well as listening, which are imperative when I have chance to talk to foreigners.  Although I have practiced a lot in my senior high days, I don’t think I am good enough.  The only way that I can promote my English ability is go on studying.  I will force myself to chat with my friends in English.  Besides English, I also want to learn French, because I think it sounds graceful when speaking French. 

Next year, I want to learn preliminary simultaneous translation.  It’s a critical section in learning English. 

In my third year, I want to go abroad to learn foreign life, perhaps in America or in France.  Except learning genuine accent, I am eager to experience different life to rich my living experience and I will take part-time job, too. 

In final year, I will be devoted to studying and go to a graduate school.  In the future, I want to be an English teacher or a translator or a traveler to travel around the world.

Self-evaluation

As to my personalities, I am a positive and easygoing girl.  Every time when I meet the difficulties, I will face them without escaping them.  For example, I once didn’t pass the intermediate level of GEPT.  Instead of giving up, I asked my classmates how to improve my speaking skills.  Also, I read English articles loudly every night and imitate foreigner’s accent.  Eventually, I pass the test!  Also, my positive attitude has a great influence on my life.  One day, my clothes missed on the road to school, my reaction to this thing is laughing loudly without being sad.  I always look on the bright side of life and I think that life won’t be too terrible even if something bad happens.  Besides, during past three years, my English ability has improved a lot no matter the speaking skills or writing.  I have licenses about English ability such as GEPT tests(elementary level and intermediate level)、English typing.  I also attended English camp last summer vocation.  In there, I have learned how to produce a commercial briefing in English.  To me, leaterning English is not only for getting high scores, but a way to accumulate knowledge.  I never feel tired learning it!

School life- revised

I am studying at Department of Applied Foreign Languages in National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School (NTCVS).  I love English so much that I chose this subject as my major.  In this class, I learn so many from my classmates and they are so nice to me.  In past two years, we have got so many prizes.  I am really proud of my class and enjoy the time we get together. 

When I was a freshman, I had no idea what to do in the future.  I followed my teacher’s instruction step by step.  I read English magazines and listened to the radio. Finally, passed the General English Proficiency Test and passed the elementary level.  After that, I firmly believed that as long as I word hard, I will succeed one day. 

When I was a second grade student, I was devoted to improving my English oral ability to pass the GEPT intermediate level. Knowing I was poor in speaking, I read the English articles loudly every night. Besides, I asked my classmates how to speak English fluently.  After few months later, I passed the test eventually.  By the way, I served as the class treasurer for half a year.  I learned how to manage money carefully and take the responsibility.

Until now, I still work hard on my English.  Maybe I will take part in the GEPT high-intermediate level.

As to my extracurricular activity, I play volleyball with classmates after school.  Trough this activity, I meet many friends from different classes.  I really fall in love with playing volleyball and I even go to school to play volleyball on Saturday.

During three years, I learn a lot from my classmates and teachers.  I become mature and considerate of everything.

My name is Sih-Chi Huang.  I have five members in my family.  My father is a kind and gentle man.  He always says “We can’t be too greedy for anything” and “No matter what you are doing, just do your best!” Because of his words, when I meet difficult positions, I always think of his words to comfort myself, and as a student, I do everything with my efforts.  My mother is a woman who has sympathy; she is not only my mother but also my good friend. Every time when I am sick, she will take good care of me without complaining. Also, when she is in a bad mood, she will tell me what is on her mind.  I am pleasure that I have a good relationship with two of them.  My brother is a graduate student.  As long as he comes back, he is concerned with my schoolwork and teaches me patiently.  My sister is a college student; she is the person who understands me most. I am Po-Wen Hsiao. Raphael is my english name. It is chosen because of my french name called Raphaël. Chia-yi is my hometown. There are four people in my family. My father works as a truck driver and my mother is a packer for a food ingredient shop. I also have a older sister who is now working as an assistant in Tainan. Luckily, I have a happy family with my parents open-minded and a sister who takes much care of me. My parents absolutely have great influence on me, and I always look up to them. Their optimism shows us the way to get over the difficulty, and they never force us to do things we do not want. My father often tells me “Getting involved learns more.” This is why I participate a lot in school activities and have the freedom to develop my hobbies. I graduated from OOXX University in Taipei. Throughout my school years, I am a active student joined many activities in French department and in the club of Chia-Yun, a club of reunion . Because of my passion to make friends, every time when I have the chance to be in charge of some activities held at school, I just do my best to accomplish all of them. My classmates and me had a group to work for edition of the journal of French department. To collect the photographs and design the pages formed me to have the sense of art. And my time in the club of reunion not only made me improve the ability of the communication and of the organization but also allowed me to be familiar with the management of an activity or a campaign. I spent my leisure time listening to music, especially the foreign rock music. On listening, I sing aloud with the lyrics which makes me get the meaning of the song. As my hobby, I increasingly develop my great interet in learning English, and it does help with my reading and writing. In addition, the hand-made cards is what I love to do. Designing cards not only makes me happy but also stimulates my sense of creation. With all these periods, I believe that we must achieve something from what we do in our lives. In the future, I desire to go deeply on language learning, and gain more work experience. Just like what I got from my participation of the cheerleading in college, the prize is not forever, but to learn and to share is the most valuable.

My name is Charlotte. I was born in Taipei and then moved to Kaohsiung. There are four members in my family, including the parents and an older sister. My parents are very busy and working hardly, so I am very independent.

The process of pursuing my studies, I have good relationships with classmates and communicate well with teachers. I’ve also been class officers many times.

In junior high, I’d been class officers sequentially, such as class constable and class secretary, etc. I’d also been English and History assistant teacher several times. Through the experiences of being class officers, not only strengthen the work and communication skills, also won praises from teachers.

In senior high, the school and the homeroom teacher are very open-minded; they encourage students to participate lots of activities joyously. On one occasion, there was a carnival in the school 8th anniversary. I was responsible for connecting with manufacturers and arranging the shift table. I’d been rejected many times during searching for the manufacturers, but after my ceaselessly effort. Finally, my sincerity struck a chord with a manufacturer. Due to get good along with the classmates, when I arranged the shift table, lots of them helped voluntarily. Even though the process was complicated, but after I communicated and coordinated patiently: in the end, I learned a lot about how to dealing with things and the attitude of working.

In the university, I entered the Department of Republic Relations of International Trade Student Council. I was responsible for asking the sponsorship of the surrounding stores, as well as the contact matters of various activities of the department. Since the relevant experience of senior high, let me deal with those skillfully. In the influence of my mother (the manager of insurance industry), I am interested with financial and choose the Department of Finance as my minor. I also get the License of the Securities Specialist and the Qualification of the Life Insurance Agent.

The summer vacation in 2008, for proving the English ability, I went to England to take English courses for 2 months. Living in a completely different culture and language environment from Taiwan, and the English I speak is American accent, the cultural shock I went through was strong. But I am open-minded and have good ability to adapt the new environment. Also my personality is very independent since I was young, so I was up to speed after few days. Through that tine, not only enhanced my self-confident and English communication skills, but broadened my horizons by getting along with foreign friends. During the English courses, I also have good relationships with the host family and still in touch now.

As a student of the Department of International Trade, the Department not merely has the professional courses, but provides foreign languages. According to my interests, I chose Spanish, French and Korean. In addition, I also do the enhancement of Spanish outside the school.

I hope sincerely to get the opportunity to apply what I learned from university to the practicality. I also wish to gain more practical experiences through working and contribute to company. I am willing to learn energetically to get on track immediately, and ask for advice from superintendents and colleagues humbly. I would like to use spare time to strengthen the working abilities and skills. Looking forward to hearing from you soon and hope to be given the opportunity to present my self at an interview.

Reducing stress is an important lesson to modern people. Every day, we meet different kinds of tough problems to make us feel stressed, so we have a variety of ways to reduce stress.  First of all, you should throw away the matter which bothers you.  Second, you may take a walk or take a deep breath to change your mood.  Moreover, you can write down all of  your complaints in your diary.  If these steps are not enough for you, you can yell in the bathroom or even hit your pillow!  Most important of all, after you feel better, you have to face the music instead of escaping the reality.

Acton is a small town in the Midwest which has a population of 2,500.  It is a safe, quiet, and clean place to live. However, Stanley Manufacturing decides to open a large factory in Acton.  Although this thing may be regarded as a good thing; actually, there will be many negative effects on Action .  With the new large factory constructed, pollution problems will be from bad to worse, such as air pollution and environmental problems.  Next, owing to the construction of the new large factory, there will be more and more people move in.  This way, street will be filled with rubbish.  Besides, once people move in increasingly, the small town will become crowded and noisy.  What is worse, public security will be severe.  To sum up, it’s a controversial issue to regard this construction as a bad thing.

 I am in favor of wearing uniforms to school for several reasons.  First, if people wear their own clothes instead of wearing uniforms, it may looks more disorder.  Next, we don’t have to worry about what we should wear because we have to wear uniforms every day.  Next, when student wear uniforms, they stand for their own schools, which is easy to recognize. That is to say, if someone do something bad, the police will recognize him or her by uniforms right away.  To sum up, I think wearing uniforms is a good memory for student time because when we become college students, we have no uniforms to wear generally.

The business failed for several reasons.  First, there are two large music stores near this store, in this way, the competitiveness force would be intense.  Second, most of the CDs in this store were hip-hop and rock; they were not only too simple but too unappealing.  It should have had more selections for people who have different interests in music.  Next, the business hours were too short.  Besides, people usually take a nap or have no time to go outside during this time, so this is the reason why the business hours were inappropriate.  Finally, Mr. Williams accepts neither checks nor credit cards.  It was really unhandy for people.  According to these above, I think they were the main reasons why the business failed

My Favorite Holiday (revised)

Christmas is my favorite hoilday and I have several reasons for which I like it.  To begin with, when Christmas is coming, many stores are decorated by many patterns which are associated with Christmas.  Next, there are many pleasant scenery such as Poinsettias and light bulbs along the street.  Third, my friends and I will write cards and give gifts to each other for celebrating Christmas.  But the main reason for me is that many kids believe the existance of Santa Claus so they put their socks beside their beds and wait for him.  I think it is really cute for kids to do so because after we grow up, we no longer do this kind of thing.  As a result, I hope I still can keep this cute imagination even if I become an adult.
